I had dinner at this place and for my main ordered a beef angus steak with crusted bone marrow. This was the best meal I have had in my week in Paris thus far. The wine was fantastic, the starter of salmon was so tasty and the dessert of lime marangue with nuts was exquisite. I will return to sample more of the menu!!
Very expensive breakfast. If you are looking for good food, friendly service, lower cost and a lighter menu, ignore Cafe M. We had breakfast there once and it was 72 euros for 2 people. There is a selection of cold items including the usual bakery items, juice, cereal, muesli. Coffee is brought to you by a server and they also take your order for eggs. The restaurant was quite crowded, and I noticed a lot of guests loading up on food, wrapping it up in napkins and putting it in their bags for later - tacky! Eggs were good, but they took quite a while to be delivered to our table, and for 72 euros, it was not worth the price. Suggestion: walk out of the hotel, turn left, and walk 2 blocks. Cross the street to the Rue d'Anjou and go to "Bagel and Cream". There you will find a multitude of bagels, toppings, muffins, juices, cookies, and chips. We had such a good experience that we went back the next day. The owner is a young French guy who spent 3 years in Miami and fell in love with bagels. His original shop is on the Rue de Clichy. Cafe M might be good for a business lunch or dinner, but it is very expensive. Try the other good, less expensive options in the neighborhood instead.
