This visit was a for a quick coffee and business meeting on a grey, damp afternoon. Gusto started life as a delicatessen, but has grown to become one of two perennial standouts of Five Ways in Paddington, just down from Oxford Street. There is limited seating inside, but a more extensive number of tables outside. Both the rug and the ample umbrellas stopped my colleague and I from getting wet, and the coffee arrived promptly after counter ordering. It was just abit cooler than I would have liked but my colleague was very happy with the termperature and quality of their Laté. The food, which we did not sample on this occasion, has always been good. Given the more recent competition from Thomas Dux across the road for varied delicacies, it is a measure of the quality at Gusto, that they have not only survived but appear to prosper with constantly well filled seats.
