It was the weekend when I went there with my family. I ordered the Wappa Gohan set that came with the tonkatsu, chawamushi and seaweed soup. The Wappa gohan was delicious and healthy. It was also colorful with brown, orange, green. Food arrived quite fast and not too hot for consumption.
Kazokutei in the Bugis Junction maket is a no-frills, efficient, Japanese restaurant that I frequently visit when I visit Singapore and am looking for a quick, budget Japanese meal. They had a clam promotion going on and I enjoyed the Clam Toji Nabeyaki Udon with some mixed tempura as accompaniment and a tiger beer. A rather generous sized portion with a chilled beer for a less than bill of about S$ 20. Ordering is done off the ipad and the service is very quick and efficient rather than having to wait for the server to take the orders. The restaurant is on the first floor and I got a table that overlooks the market and stalls below, which I quite liked but others may not necessarily like the noise from the market below.
Upon entry, one will see an array of plastic display food which i thought was nice. Proceeded to dining area, as shown by waitress who looked unhappy to be there (it was not busy). Food and drink ordered using an iPad, which helps to minimise manpower and service rendered. Dining area was hot, i sweated like a pig. A/C was on. I think the problem is that it was not strong enough. Food was not good either. I didn't feel i was in Japanese restaurant. Quite expensive too. Did we enjoy it? Unfortunately, we did not. Will we return? Definitely not. I rather go elsewhere.
