I've been fan of Tanis cuisine and their service including the interior which is very nice place to have romantic dinner or even casual lunch. I've been here for business lunch and dinner as well as family and romantic dinner at Tani.. We enjoyed the variety of cuisines which are tasty fusion meals. The general manager Ms Oh is great to remember the vip returning customer with great hospitality and services. I would highly recommend anyone to try Tani.
Chose set dinner, course C, something like tasting menu, and course C let chef choose the dishes for you. Food is delicious and very fresh. Presentation is also very good. Great decor inside and perfect for couples!
In between meetings one work day in Seoul, I and two colleagues found time to explore some wonderful Japanese food at Tani Next Door. The freshness of the food was superb. The staff service in our private alcove was very good. We had a range of shared dishes, including sashimi followed by luscious moist salmon and a beautiful black miso cod with some lightly tempura prawns. The food was as vibrant as the ocean and served with a light fragrant green tea, was the perfect light lunch. Really very very good!
After eating grilled meat for 3 days, we needed a break and craved some seafood. After a few searches, Tani Next Door looked promising with an interesting menu and lovely decor. We were not disappointed. While there is an a la carte menu, tasting menus are the way to go, and we selected a mid-tier one. We started with a small trio of sashimi, seared scallop, and a macaron, which all worked in a way. The second course was a terrine of some of the sweetest tomatoes topped with crab meat. We had a more traditional sashimi course after that, inculding some very good uni, followed by a plate of fried prawn and eggplant. The meat courses came next, and even after all of the meat in the previous days, the miso marinated pork belly was different and very flavorful. For the main meat course, we went with a sea bass, which was cooked perfectly with crispy skin. The final course was actually a small bowl of cold udon, which was very refreshing, and the meal ended with a small slice of homemade cheese cake. The wine selection is decent, and our sauvignon blanc from NZ was the perfect match. Overall, Tani Next Door provides a great dining experience in Seoul. The price for the tasting menu was 77,000 won, which may seem high at first, but for the number of courses and quality, is a bargain, especially considering that a sushi dinner with 10 pieces can be almost as much at a nice sushi restaurant or hotel. It's a little tricky to find as it's on the 9th floor, but do check out the outdoor seating as well. While I love eating all of the traditional food while in Seoul, Tani Next Door provides a great dining experience that is international and world class.
