The best of Brisbane beaches Brisbane might not be famous for its beaches (bay beaches are rarely nice) but this is hands down the best of Brisbane. Like the peninsula across the bridge, there's some sand and a bunch of family fun to be had (parks, climbing trees, cliff walks, fishing, the pier, BBQ area, climbing trees etc). This is where north Brisbane goes to spend a day with the kids. For travellers to Brisbane, it isn't The Gold Coast... don't expect endless beaches and white sand. It's more about a paddle and play with the kiddies than a scene from Baywatch.
