This little place lies outside the city centre but is very impressive with quality over price. The menu is vast and the staff helped us to find good choices from it. The lassis were amazing, especially the mango lassi was one of the very best I've ever tried. The prices were very reasonable.
Finally tried this place at 354 Clementi Ave 2. These guys moved from the hawker centre behind to this location during the market upgrading. The staff were real friendly and the ambience typical like most similar prata eateries. I ordered the Mutton Bryani and Tulang (lamb bones for the wholesome goodness inside each). The Bryani was good and not tough. It was tasty and portions large with a little pickle side veg. I found the Tulang wanting in both flavor and size, hence, not much in the way of marrow. A little disappointed but maybe I was late and they had only remnants... Oh well
1st time eating here and we are all satisfied with the food and service. I ordered a plate of Fish Sambal Briyani. What I like about the briyani is that its not heavy to the palate. You don't really taste the clarified butter or ghee which I like. My mum ordered 1 piece of plain prata, surptisingly they do sell 1 piece as it has been a trend that prata shops force you to buy a set of 2 plain pratas. Mum likes it, her comment that its soft, fluffy not oily. Another ehen my companion ordered their signature dish called Ukelele. It was a huge prata filled with bits of mutton, mushroom, capsicum and chese. Its ala a wrapped pizza. What's is they are quite generous with the filling. There are all sorts of prata, tho sailing , noodles and rice menu to choose, will definitely come here again.
It not often that you discover a neighbourhood place that has a great selection of good and tasty food. Its definitely popular with the locals so you can be assured its not a hit and miss place. It not easy to find as it's in a residential area, a bit away from Clementi Central (and MRT stn) but only 2 bus stops away from there. Near the Clementi mosque. We had roti prata, onion thosai, paper thosai, mee goreng and teh halia(ginger tea). The teh halia had a strong ginger flavour that many others lacked. The mee goreng was chilly hot but not overly done, the onion thosai had loads of onion and the sambar and chutneys were spicy and tasty. There is a very extensive menu with recognisable favourites as well as fairly eclectic offerings. There's even an ice-cream prata! Next visit I'll get a picture of the menu. Makes for interesting reading. Very good service, your order is taken promptly and advised roughly how long the food would be served. Most definitely on my list of top places to visit for Indian food.
