My friends had managed to make a last minute reservation at this restaurant on a Friday night. All tables were reserved. We ended up sitting at the counter. I thought that was actually more relaxing than sitting at the table. We could point to the bottle of wine we would like to try without moving around. The setting is perfect. It is in a machiya, a Japanese style tea house. There is a banquet room in the back and it can be reserved for larger groups. We ordered a glass of house red wine for each of us. Apparently the bottle did not make it to a 3rd glass. Whatever was left was on the house for us. Nice gesture. Then a new bottle of red wine was opened and we ordered 3 glasses again. We had ordered beef tongue, Gorgonzola mousse, gnocchi in pumpkin sauce, grilled lamb chops and assorted vegetable salads. The most memorable being the beef tongue and Gorgonzola mousse toasts. Went well with red wine. Very tasty. Everything else was good except the gnocchi. It was not as fluffy as I would like it to be. Too much flour and not enough potato. It is true that the menu is in Japanese only. I would look at what other people had ordered and put in the same order. This restaurant is the result of a passion pursued by a real estate agent. How can one resist good food and good wine?
The food was nice as was the overall presentation of the restaurant. However, there was no bread on the table, which a typical Italian restaurant should offer and no menu in English or Italian. If you need to eat some Italian food, then this place offers good, honest fare.
