Those who only need coffee should visit here, as in terms of starbucks chain it is no different but unlike other cafe this place is not closed or only for starbucks. Sitting area is common, thus noisy. No comfortable couch or comfortable seats, Only window seats ( which are hardly 6) are good as it gives you good view of Nagoya city from 15th floor.
Nagoya JR Station is relatively easier to get around compared to other major city JR Stations in Japan. Even so, it was quite difficult to find this Starbucks. Many of the locals did not even know this branch existed. We asked the JR ticket clerk who told us to go outside of the station and across the street. Not so. This Starbucks is located on the 13th floor of the JR Central Towers complex just outside the East (Higashi) Exit (outside the JR turnstiles) but within the station. Look for the Starbucks sign when you get to the building map, then take the elevator (some elevators don't stop on the 13th fl). Depending on which side (south or north) side of the complex, you may have to walk 100's of yards to finally arrive at this Starbucks. But it's worth it but you cannot come here if you don't have time to waste. It's right on top of the station but it's so far and time consuming to get to. Luckily we had some 2 hours to waste for the next train. The branch is like any other Starbucks around the world. But the tables are spread over several areas so it is larger than you first realize. Also JR Central Towers complex consists of mainly business offices so the place may be packed with office workers. The place is very clean including the restrooms, staff very friendly and efficient, and you have the same familiar Starbucks menus and at the same time you can enjoy the beautiful view of Nagoya City.
