We visited Pyrgos during our week in Santorini. The town is beautiful and relatively quiet. We chose this restaurant as it was very busy, mostly with locals, stopping for lunch at 2.30pm. The menu appealed as there were local dishes to choose between, but not a huge selection, which suggested great quality. We shared fava falafel and a chicken gyros. Both portions were huge, beautifully presented, reasonably priced at around 9 euros each, and both were absolutely delicious. It was lovely to sit and eat in the town square and watch village life.
We came here on a recommendation from our hotel. So glad we made the effort. We'd been to Santo Winery and walked into Pyrgos from there which only took about 10 mins. There were 4 of us and we shared Meze. The food came out on what can only be described as a cupboard door. Very quirky (in a good way). The food was delicious. However the wine although good was quite expensive. But don't let that put you off. It's a lovely place to spend a lazy afternoon.
