Very tasty new greek cuisine, in a really interesting urban area, between railway lines and museums. Cheap as well but with great quality. Reserve the table next to the tree in the back of the yard.
The menu is not big, which I think is something good, but everyday new special dishes are present. Familiar with less known tastes are nicely combined, while the prices are rewarding for your choices. The store is in a good and quite square, while the service is fast and pleasant.
We had lunch The Old Bicycle after visiting the Benaki Museum Annex on Pireos street. The meze we had were wonderful. The service was excellent, taking care to understand our gluten free dietary requirements. The cafe was charming and the square was beautiful and relaxing.
Being a cook myself, I was really surprised by this restaurant. It is simple, it is honest, it is inexpensive and it is just wonderful. If you want to enjoy really traditional (and I mean: traditional!) dishes, with really great flavors, presented to you without unneccessary fuss, go to The Old Bicycle and be suprised. One of the best culinary experiences we ever had in Greece. It is a bit off the beaten track, but only 5 minutes or so from Kerameiki metro station. Go there! You'll like it.
