The place only opened several months ago and so is still in its blossoming phase. The place has an amazing vibe to it. The moment you walk in you feel as though you've entered someone's private backyard garden, decorated with beautiful lights and comfy chairs. The music is what draws you in but the drinks, the surprisingly nice pool table, and the friendly staff are what we will keep you there for the rest of the night. They also have a great boutique worth checking out for its cute clothes and jewelry. Make sure to ask the staff about their red road foundation project. Definitely worth a visit!
We visited The Garden in Kampot just as it opened in November. We went on one of the "Event" evenings. From the moment you walk through the large wrought iron decorative gates you feel Like you are in an enchanted garden. The fairy lights hang through all the trees within the garden and the area is spacious and the layout between the trees creates little nooks of privacy. The chef Who was trained in Australia has lots of different ideas for the menu but for quality keeps the daily menu simple. The DJ had music to suit all tastes and the large screen showed a continuous display of background visuals. The Garden also has a boutique next to the bar area which was a definite attraction to all the females present, with dresses, handbags, purses and jewellery and scarves to buy. The pool table was a great asset for the more competitive amongst us.
First impressions were of a bar in a garden setting, with graffiti and lots of greenery. All the customers were enjoying a drink, and when we arrived with a child there was nowhere to sit to eat. However, the nice chap who greeted us introduced himself and said they'd set up a table for us (2 adults and a 2 year old) to eat where ever we wanted, which he did in a jiffy. The menu was limited to 3 imaginative items, 2 of which we tried and found to be absolutely delicious. This was a case of less is more! The chef came to say high after we'd eaten and to check if we enjoyed the food. When we left they waved goodbye, remembering our names. There was a real party atmosphere to the place, which we miss as we have a young child, and they made a huge effort to make us feel welcome and feed us well. I figure the place is just getting started, and I'd recommend to anyone to drop in for a very cold beer and some of their lovely ravioli!! This was our last meal in Kampot and a memorable one for sure. Thanks guys!
