We came here in June 2015. Food was great and service was good. They have an 'appetizer set', but didn't serve it to us until I asked about it, seeing other tables have it. The waiter told me, they usually serve it to locals because foreigners do not eat it. Price for food here is fair, cheaper than Aonang area. We rode here on motorbike from our hotel in Krabi town. It's located just next to Tesco Lotus at the eagle junction.
So after a few disappointing meals in Ao Nang we were really craving genuine Thai food. Most tourist places serve bland and 'foreign-friendly' Thai cuisine to appeal to the masses. Upon a recommendation by our Resort staff we took the half hour journey to Krabi town and were not disappointed. The Restaurant is set in a vast open garden where tables are arranged in one of the many areas giving you a private and spacious setting in the open air. The staff were attentive and spoke enough english for us to have and enjoyable time. With an extensive menu our only regret was arriving without a large appetite. None the less, the dishes we ordered were spot on with tradition Thai ingredients filled with aromatics that will linger to this day. The bill surprisingly was comparable to any tourist restaurant we visited earlier in our stay only infinitely better. The one sour taste I had was that we didn't come here sooner. Even though we enjoyed the spicy nature of the dishes, I am sure the chefs are able to tone down the spice if requested. We are already considering another trip to Krabi solely to eat here again.
We read about this place on some forum and decided to try it. Take a tuktuk there from central Krabi town unless you'd like to take 1 km walk. It doesn't look fancy, the staff doesn't speak that much English. But the food is great! We ordered enough food for 4 people to try it out and we weren't disappointed. The fried mushrooms in sauce was delicious! It's good Thai food at a good price!
