Sited opposite the Chiang Wat Man temple, this small restaurant (cafe) offers some good, basic but cheap food, together with a good collection of beer and soft drinks. The menu isn't enormous, but neither is it pretentious. Simply, if you want a meal sat between 60 and 80Bt then this is the place to go. There's a small selection of Thai dishes, non particularly spicy, some basic "british" dishes (chips, ham, eggs), toasties, filled rolls etc. It's cheap, it's cheerful, and a pleasant atmosphere. They also offer breakfasts (including juice and coffee/tea for around 100Bt). Perfect, if like me, you have to pass an hour in the shade whilst the missus is off getting a pedicure whilst waiting for a fitting at the CM Tailors. It advertises itself as a guest house as well, although this was untried by myself.
After looking around for ages for a decent place to stay which we could afford we found S.K.A-Roi. Kai and Sam are the owners and were happy to negotiate a price. I was so happy with the room. It was really clean, light and fresh and i felt like i was at home. The bed was really comfy. Sam and Kai were lovely and really made us feel at home. Kai is an amazing cook, and was happy to cook us things even if they werent on the menu and at really affordable prices. We have been travelling for 7 months and this is still by far the best value for money i really recommend staying here. We ended up staying an extra night we didnt want to leave. Absolutely loved it can not wait to go back!!
