I found Coffee Tower on the lake just as it was supposed to be, and for a coffee snobs perspective it was worth finding! It just out into the lake and is a pretty site that had more locals than tourists (I was the only one). Several were eati g and the food looked good, but i was here for the coffee. And the coffee was fresh, flavoursome and hot and done in a European style that we generally love in Australia. So if you are in Mandalay and trying to escape the poison known as Nescafe 3 in 1 head on to Coffee Tower.

Lonely Planet listed Coffee Tower by Lake Kandawgyi but we could only find Coffee Tower II, so we were a tad confused initially. They had a reasonable range of food (my daughter's whole fish was the best pick), but the highlight for us was to get a great cup of coffee, complete with latte art.
