After a 8+ hour trek to Seattle, I was looking for something really good. When it pops up on my feed a place that is 4.5 stars, it is automatically put into consideration. We were so hungry when we came in, so everything on the menu looked so good. It was during happy hour, so there was a lot of cheap food available. What I ended up ordering were the al pastor tacos & nachos, one friend ordered the pollo asado burrito, and another ordered the pollo asado torta. While we were waiting for our food, they were kind enough to give us complimentary tostada de tinga. That was a really good appetizer. And when the actual food came out, I got super excited. My tacos weren't what I was expecting amount wise. I was expecting two tortillas per taco, when it only came with one. But for what it was, it was so delicious. I had a bite of my friend's torta and burrito and they both were so good too. The nachos were wonderful too. I devoured that thing like none other once my tacos were finished. Definitely recommend this place for good, cheap food for anyone in Seattle or visiting the Seattle area.
Living in the Bay Area of San Francisco I am a picky Mexican restaurant diner. Fogon exceeded my expectations in all categories, despite being probably one of thge busiest nights of the year as the proceeds benefited AIDS charitites. GREAT margaritas, creative dishes, good service. Noise is loud, but perhaps would be less on another night.
The Capital Hill neighborhood has tons of restaurants to choose from. I was in Seattle on business and three of us just started walking through the neighborhood and decided to try this place. Fun atmosphere, service was excellent, location convenient, food was just okay. Probably not the best option if you want really good mexican but it's in a fun trendy neighborhood.
