One of Trier's hidden gems. Caters mostly for younger vegan (but have some meat on offer for those who are not vegan), hipster, student crowd, a bit away from the main thoroughfare. Choice of food is a bit limited, but the food is good. And cheap. Only drawback: if you do not speak German, it may be toughish, because all menus are in German only, staff, though nice, quick, friendly and efficient, is not overly enthusiastic to speak any other l-ge apart from German. If you do not mind that, otherwise great place with good quality, reasonably priced food.
The strongest things about this restaurant are their diverse vegetarian options and their selection of non German red wines by the glass. The bathroom is far down stairs and cold, the atmosphere is too bright and crowded and noisy, and the staff prefers to not even attempt to speak English. Also, I ate here in convenience to see a concert in their connecting bar, but then I had to skip the concert because the allow smoking in the bar...yuck.
We visited twice & found the atmosphere very welcoming. We had food on one occasion. The choice is a bit limited, but what we had was very good indeed. It is a smoker's bar, so it's not for you if you want clean air.
