I have a few friends who love private-room karaoke and we've hit up muse numerous times over the past few years. The last time for my friends birthday, and we got a medium-size room for a couple of hours. I'm going to assume the readers of these reviews know how private karaoke works, so I'll leave out the details, but it's always fun and the staff is quick to come when you summon them with the room's call button. They have a serviceable, if not outstanding menu of Korean dishes (love the scallion pancake). One thing that has changed since we first started going there -- the system itself. The older system had a book where you just put in the number of the song (which is still available in some rooms) and that was all there was too it; there was a large selection of older songs.. being over 40, I appreciate that. The newer machine have a badly designed user interface that you have to actually sit in the front of the machine to use (as opposed to a remote) and the selection is limited to mostly newer songs. So, do with that information what you will. There's also a place out in Annadale, VA that I suspect is run by the same people called Cafe Muse, which is equally fun for the Northern VA dwellers.
