This food truck has lines that tell you it's worth the wait. Shrimp and grits include the tails, a little messy to eat but fabulous taste. The oyster po-boy was also excellent, and the bread pudding was as good as any that I've ever had. They're on Facebook. Follow them to see where they are. Definitely worth the wait!
My colleague saw the food truck for this place last week and told me about checking it out. Well they came to our location and we jumped on the opportunity. The line in front of the truck was crazy long, but no one was giving up their spot so we figured there was a reason. My co-worker got the gumbo along with the shrimp and grits. I picked up the Bread pudding. Now I'm usually not a bread pudding guy but reading the description has me curious. their bread pudding had me falling all over myself wanting more. It was so delicious that now I HAVE to go to Eastern Market to try the rest of the food.
On a recent trip to DC wanted to check out Eastern Market on a Sunday afternoon. One of my wife and my favorite activities is checking out local artist's and food booths. Asked our concierge for directions to Eastern Market. She gave us one recommendation. Said we had to check out Puddin' for the best bread pudding in DC. Have to admit I am not familiar with bread pudding. But based on her advice thought we had to give it a try. So glad we did. Yummy. Just wished we had ordered more. We were lucky as they were busy and were down to their last pan of pudding at 12:30
This is the place to eat as you walk around Eastern Market on a Sunday afternoon. They bread the shrimp and cook it as you wait, then tuck a generous portion into a roll with spicy coleslaw. The smaller size sandwich was perfect for me and still left room for a serving of their incomparable brown butter bourbon bread puddin' (they'll give you a little sample, if you ask)! Super friendly service.
