We enjoy the food of the islands and Silver Spoon does a great job of bringing those tastes to the mainland. The Curried Goat is delicious. The Thursday special was Stew Beef (braised and juicy with great flavor). Both came with Rice and Peas (which are actually red beans), fried plantains and a small salad. The soup of the day was Red Pea (again red bean with beef, potatoes and a dumpling). A great meal for the money. NOTE -- CASH ONLY!
I love oxtail and my wife loves curried goat. We saw good reviews for Silver Spoon and decided to check it out. The food was authentic and excellent. You can't eat there, but taking it back and eating at your own place is no problem for something this good. As a heads up, rice and peas on the menu really means rice and beans -- heavy on the rice and light on the beans. An good side to go with the mains.
Portions are great and the jerk pork is my favorite. Call ahead to see what's being served for the day. The only downside: the seedy characters that hang out by the front door, next to a convenience store.
