We went in here to try yaki niku in Japan for the first time. The prices all looked very reasonable, perhaps the best priced yaki niku we've seen so far. After being seated they started pushing the more expensive all you can eat pretty strongly, to the point where we weren't sure if we were allowed to not have it. As we were not that hungry we managed to come to some sort of deal, we would buy their individual dishes for the advertised prices, if we also both bought a drink. When I write it now it doesn't sound like we came out on top of that exchange. A minute later they walked by to inform us that they were bringing some edamame to our table, that ended up being an extra 300¥ and I don't think we had an option of declining. Despite the somewhat brutal gouging the food was absolutely delicious and we cooked them to our individual preferences. It was a unique experience at a restaurant that we both enjoyed. I would probably go back for the all you can eat to get my money's worth and teach them a lesson about pushing that on an experienced western eating machine.
