I love 21st Amendment. Sure, it helps that it is the bar closest to my home. But I can hoof an extra half block and have several choices. First of all, it's what a bar should be. Simple, old but well- kept, charming, cozy and inviting on a cold day. Best of all, it's kind of dark. If you want bright contempo see and be seen, move to LA. This is the Northeast; we go to bars to drink, escape, and disappear not for our star chance. The barkeeps/waitrons are pretty much to a person attractive and gregarious but never overbearing. Decent tap selection and wine. And some of the best damned pub food you'll ever eat. The menu is limited but across the board excellently prepared. And the hamburger is as good as any in town. By that I mean quite literally as good as top of the line steakhouses. Worth the trip in itself. It can get very busy at happy hour and at peak evening hours and deservedly so. It is at its best on a weekend afternoon. Stop in for a brew and you may stay for a few. Also, if you come in during a Pats game, be patient. Official bar policy is to play music and no audio from TV and they'll even tell you that. But by the time it gets to mid first quarter you'll get the play by play. Really cozy at Christmas. If you're visiting Boston, you'll likely end up nearby as 21 is across the street from the State House on the east side (to your right if you're facing the State House). And if you want that Cheers Beacon Hill pub feel, it's more Cheers than Cheers (former Bull & Finch).

2013-11-29 00:00来自携程 网友 The 21st Amendment repealed Prohibition in the US in 1920. Try one of the beers from San Francisco's 21st Amendment Brewery that are on tap.
