We happened upon La Cocina Santiago while visiting Seattle. Being from "The Mexican Food Capitol of the World" El Paso, TX I always try to sample the Mexican cuisine in every city I visit. The place was busy and we were seated right away and greeted with baskets of fresh chips and wonderful housemade salsas. The salsa is always an early indicator of how the food will be and after tasting this salsa I had high hopes for the rest of the meal. The dinner did not disappoint. One of us tried the buffet which was slightly better than average but the rest of the meals were exceptional! Two combo plates with rellenos, tacos, burritos, and enchiladas. All were very, very good. The real star of the show was the Carne Asada which was grilled to perfection, tender, juicy and flavorful. The service was good and we didn't have any issues during our visit. The plates are huge and might be enough to share if you aren't a big eater. The prices were great. Don't let some of the older reviews discourage you from enjoying some great Mexican food. The food here would hold up against many of the restaurants in the El Paso/ Juarez area. Try this place!!!
