A good meal in an odd location in the basement of our hotel. We all enjoyed our meals. I had a rich ragu while my companion had a squid risotto. My meal was good, but not memorable. My colleague received a whole squid on his plate black rice more so than risotto. It was a nice break from the local cuisine and quite popular with the locals. I would eat here again.
Ola is an Italian restaurant with a number of branches in Seoul area. I had been to this one and also the others several times before this visit and knew that their pasta is good. This time also the food was alright, but the service wasn't in line with their pricing. We went there a little earlier than the peak dinner time, and there were not so many people eating around. But, we had a hard time ordering because no one was paying attention to us. Not just ordering, we also had to try really hard to make them look at us every time we needed something. In addition, the lady who looked like a manager at the counter seemed angry and never answered friendly at all on my questions about the payment. Their price is a bit higher than average Italian places in town, and I thought that one of the reasons is probably because they're located in the same building with Marriott hotel and providing somewhat hotel-like services. But, I realized that the service definitely is not related to who they share the building with. (And the manager did say that they really has nothing to do with the hotel.) The food was pretty good again, but I didn't really feel good on the way out. It would be much better if they get their staff trained more, and I would rather go for another restaurants if this keeps happening in the future.
