Can tell the food here is really made with love as their sign says. Had THE MOST DELICIOUS cake (matzipan, cream, cranberry, rose petals on top) Gave me free glass of blackberry liquor too. Place is super cozy with charming furnishings set in an old house.. Just loved it here!!!
So I never got in the door, sorry not to be able to sample their goodies, & maybe discuss politics, the meaning of life in Israel under Netanyahu and sundry other topics. The two bored policemen guarding the place (from exploding rucksacks?) seemed OTT to me & I fell to wondering who was paying for this protection, & why, in these dangerous times this cafe had been singled out for special care. If I manage to park my tucsack somewhere for an hour I may go back. Maybe . .
This is the perfect place to take a break from walking around Berlin, particularly if you find yourself in the Jewish area of town (the cafe is located a block away from the New Synagogue). The nana tea and hummus plate were delicious and beautifully presented, and the cafe itself has a very charming atmosphere.
