Always packed, this restaurant offers OK value for money (considering Munich prices). While they have extravagent breakfast dishes - one for each starsign - and other lovely food on the menu, unfortunately, the Wassermann in Maxvorstadt does not hold up to the other Wassermaenner around Munich. When I visited the first time, I was quite impressed and liked the selection, especially their specialty drinks and we decided to come back soon again. When we did, the second time around, not only had the menu changed and we couldn't order our favoritesd of the menu anymore, we had an incredibly rude and unattentive waitress. She not only forgot to bring half the food, when she finally (after 45 minutes of waiting) managed to bring something, it was cold and the wrong dish as well. We were a group of 9 people celebrating a breakfast brunch and the poor birthday girl was close to tears as all went wrong at the restaurant. We also did only receive one bread basket for the full table, even though the table next to us (6 people) received 3. We had to complain several times until she managed to attend to our table and we were hugely disappointed with the overall experience. I have been back once more for Cocktails and have to say they were good and the service in the evening was a lot better than the weekend mornings, but still overall, my impression hasn't changed from that one really bad experience. I wouldn't chose this restaurant or recommend it to friends either.
